So, it's been a few months since I last blogged! Sorry. I am going to attempt to keep up with this blog! I don't have much to type today, so yup. That's it. Thanks for reading.

I thought that the end of the semester would be the happiest day of my life this year... but it is turning into a total nightmare! I have so many papers to write, projects to do, test and quizzes to take, online exams, regular exams, and then the dreaded finals. *glup* so much for relief!

So for this weekend, I'm going home with my friend, Katie. I'm really excited! It's almost like an extended sleepover... except with added homework, seeing a band,  visiting friends and a rodeo! Yeah, a rodeo! So pumped! We're bringing homework since college doesn't take breaks on weekends. Katie and I have a lot of the same classes so we have all the same homework... we usually do homework together. Though we can distract each other with our ridiculous antics. Tonight, we're going to see a band called April May. This is Katie's friends' band. According to her they're amazing! I trust her judgement, she has an awesome taste in music. Saturday, going to a rodeo. Oh yeah! Cowboy boots, farmers tans, and chaps! Doesn't get much better than that! Haha! Since she lives like 5 minutes away from Rowan I get to see my cousin, Michael! He's my best friend. We've been BFFs since.... forever. We're only a month and a day apart (I'm older! Hehe!) and we can tell each other anything. He's one of the greatest people I have ever met and I trust him with my life. Love him! So yes, that is my weekend.
The end. <3

My first weekend home since I left for school. Very relaxing and caught up on some very well needed sleep. I got to pick up some things for my dorm (like a bulletin board and photos... it was so blah without all my pictures!), spend some time with the family, got to see some friends (yay noelle!!!), drove around my familiar yet now strange area, and got to ate a fantastic homemade meal! Meatloaf and mashed potatoes... now that's something that no one can make like mom! <3

Well, this is my third all-nighter in a row. Yes... in a ROW! I'm so tired! I try to take naps throughout the day so I get at least an hour of sleep but that's really hard to do when you have so much homework. So I sit at my desk in between classes or go to a friends room and do homework. Then I'll go get some food maybe talk to a few friends for an hour or so, then back to the desk to do more and more work. Hours upon hours. Boring assignment after boring assignment. It NEVER ends!!! Like right now, I am doing homework. Me writing this blog is doing my English homework (although I really don't mind this because it's a way for me to get out what's on my mind or to just vent about something). I still have to finish studying for a biology lab test that's tomorrow and I have math homework and chemistry homework due tomorrow as well. So not only am I going to be up late, if I do get any sleep, I have to wake up early to get more homework done. Now I'm not a procrastinator or anything. I usually get stuff done little by little over an extended period of time... well can't do that anymore because I don't have time!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! Well now I really need to get cracking on the rest of my homework. Does anyone have some coffee?

So, a big part of being in college is going to some pretty epic parties, right? WelI must say the parties here seem pretty epic! Thirsty Thursday seems to be everyone's favorite day of the week here. Honestly, with all those parties going on all over the place you think you'd have a lot of fun... not me. Not my cup of tea. My version of an epic party is sitting in a room with all the people that I enjoy being around listening to music, watching tv or a movie, getting a pizza, and doing Disney coloring books. Oh but the best part... we colored with crayons! Yeah, my friends and I can party it up!

You want your drama fix tonight? Then read this! Alright, I have decided that 98% of the guys here at school are total tools! They throw us girls around like we're footballs or something! My friend Caitlyn has been "seeing" a guy since we got here at school and they seemed to be hitting it off really well. But of course being the moron that he is, he texted her saying, "Look, I think you're a nice girl but I'm just not your type." Um... WTF?! You've known her for not quite a month, how the hell would you know what her "type" is! Heck, I don't even know what her type is! Apparently he's been talking to another girl (you'll hear about her later in this entry i guarantee it) and he has "some feelings for her" or whatever crap that he had said. So needless to say Caitlyn was pissed.
Then today, a huge group of my friends and I are eating dinner in the dining hall and Caitlyn hits the table and says, "Lauren, look who just walked in." I turn around and there he is... oh but not with his boys, oh no... with the other girl. Just the two of them at a table together eating and gazing into each others eyes. Sickening. After Caitlyn finishes dinner and leaves, my other friend Allison who is sitting at the table starts telling us about this guy she's been seeing since we moved in here. When she said his name, I realized it was the same guy Caitlyn was "seeing." I told her about what happened to Caitlyn and she was pissed. Then she was texting him asking him when they were gonna hang out next cause she needed some answers. Well, as we're walking to the Pub after an intense game of volleyball, we see him and the other girl walk past us. Oh boy was Allison PISSED! But this is not the end of the story oh no... there's still plenty more.
Later tonight, I get a text from Allison saying that she got a text from said boy asking her to sleepover tonight. She decided to go to yell at him. Well apparently he didn't like the fact that he got caught. This tool admitted to screwing her over. He kept apologizing to her saying he was gonna buy her something to make it up to her! Like you buying something is gonna make her feel better that you completely lied to her! I gotta give it to Allison though, if he thinks he has her wrapped around his finger... he's wrong, he's wrapped around hers. Well, I guess we'll just have to stand by and watch as this story unfolds more and more...

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." - 1 Timothy 4:12

I don't have much else to say but this verse. It is by far my favorite verse in the Bible. Now I'm not a "Bible Thumper" or whatever they're called; I believe in God and I will proudly say I do. I'm not trying to convert anyone or trying to get someone to believe in God, I just love this verse and want to share it. I think it is something everyone should live by.

Today, I recieved a very disturbing text message from my neighbor and good friend, Nick. Just a few words shattered my day: "Marcus passed away." How could Marcus pass away? He wasn't sick. He wasn't "on anything." He wasn't a big partier. What could have happened to the boy who lived up the street; the boy so full of life and energy? I started shaking and breathng heavy. I was hoping it ws a sick joke, but I knew Nick would never joke around about something this serious. I called for details... well it was actually more to hear if maybe it was a misunderstanding. He talked with me for awhile while I sat on a table outside and cried. Nick said that Marcus had been playing the pass out game. I couldn't believe it! Everyone at my school knew how dangerous it was because two years ago, a girl from our school had passed away from playing this game. For those of you who don't know about the pass out game, it's a "game" where you use a rope, belt, anything that you could hang yourself with and tie it around your neck to cut off circulation to your brain. When you release the rope or whatever you are using it released all the dammed up blood into your cartoid arteries giving you a "natural high." I couldn't even believe that Marcus would play a game like this. I'm still in absolute shock! If you are reading this, please inform your friends, family, children, anyone you know the dangers of the pass out game. I have lost a friend from it. Marcus and his family and all of his many friends are in my prayers. May God give them strength to help them through this time.

I didn't believe that it was possible for me to be a part of the dreaded Freshman 15 because I generally am a pretty healthy eater. I love vegetables and fruit and I eat them a lot... but then this past week they have had tater tots almost everyday. I've had tater tots before and have liked them but for some odd reason, they are delicious here!!! I can eat plate after plate of them! It's not just the tater tots either; everything is DELICIOUS!!! I have never eaten so much food... it's sooo good!!! Not only is it good, but it's ALL YOU CAN EAT! I have noticed a small amount of weight gain in myself so I believe that it is time that I start watching what I eat. I don't like the fact that I have to do this, but I want to still be able to fit into my clothing... I think it would be bad if I outgrew my clothes and I've only had some of them for two weeks.
